Prof. dr hab. n. med i n. o zdr. Mariusz Tomaniak
Physician, specialist in cardiology, invasive cardiologist, professor at the First Department and Clinic of Cardiology at the Medical University of Warsaw. Principal investigator in national and international scientific projects, leader of grants awarded by, among others, the National Science Centre and the Polish Cardiac Society. Author of over 150 indexed scientific publications, including over 100 original articles in peer-reviewed international cardiology journals with a total IF exceeding 700, as well as 25 chapters in monographs and textbooks. Supervisor of 6 PhD dissertations.
Professor Tomaniak gained clinical and scientific experience both at the Medical University of Warsaw and through many years of cooperation with Erasmus MC, Thorax Centre in Rotterdam, completed internships in Edmonton (University of Alberta) and London (Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial College London, University College London). In 2015, he was a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science, in 2018 was awarded a grant from the European Society of Cardiology, in 2020 winner of the Minister of Health's Award for Academic Teachers and the Prime Minister's Award for the best habilitation in medical sciences, and in 2021 became a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC). He is a winner of the Polish Cardiac Society (PTK) Presidents' Award and the PTK Scientific Award. In 2024, Professor Tomaniak won the Supertalents in Medicine poll (1st place).
